Verra names Straatos in its digital-first carbon market
The world’s largest carbon standard set out a digital-first carbon market — and named Straatos in the stack.
Mar 2026 · Verra
Verra — the world’s largest carbon-crediting standard — has set out what a digital-first carbon market looks like, and it named the pieces. Project data flows through Straatos, is anchored as verifiable records via Hedera Guardian, and completes its journey in Verra’s own Project Hub for validation, verification and issuance.
For a company whose entire argument is that integrity comes from digital, at-source data, this is more than a logo on a slide. It is the standard-setter agreeing with the thesis.
Where Straatos fits
In Verra’s framing, Straatos handles project onboarding, activity management and progress tracking — the layer where field reality is captured and kept. From there the record moves on without losing its provenance: anchored via Hedera Guardian as tamper-evident records, then carried into Verra’s Project Hub for validation, verification and issuance.
It is exactly the layer we have argued the market was missing — not another methodology, not another marketplace, but the shared infrastructure that makes evidence credible and interoperable, end to end.
Why it matters
Being named by the world’s largest standard is validation. The substance underneath is what counts: Straatos ran the first digital MRV submission under Verra’s new infrastructure — a live integration, not a roadmap slide, and still rare.
